Kathy, Anderson Cooper and Lance Bass Gay Up NYE

Happy New Year! All of us at Gay Vantage hope that 2010 is your best year yet!
For the record, Anderson Cooper is not publicly gay. Everyone insists that he is, the paps have caught some questionable photos, but he has not come out of the closet. Honestly, it is my opinion that if he is indeed gay, it is his prerogative if he wants to stay in the closet. The reality is that even though gay has gone mainstream, the nature of his job could leave his career in jeopardy if he is gay and decides to come out. We all have got to make and keep our nut in order to survive.
Anyway, with that disclaimer out to keep lawyers away, if Anderson Cooper is gay, he (and the producers) know how to skate around the issue to keep the gays giggling with speculation while still keeping his career safe. At this point one wouldn’t be considered bat shit crazy to assume it’s an open secret but by him not publicly discussing it, it keeps him safe from the gay haters (and viewers).
Anyway, even if Anderson Cooper is as straight as an arrow, he did a great job of gaying up New Year’s Eve with Kathy Griffin by his side and Lance Bass checking in from Vegas.
Neither Kathy or Anderson tried too hard to keep him in the closet. In fact, it seemed like at some times she tried dragging him out. We watched from beginning to end each year and love how Kathy will makes dirty jokes and Anderson pretends that he does not get the reference. OF COURSE HE GETS THE REFERENCE! I do not believe for one second that Anderson is anywhere near as naive as he’d like us to pretend he is.

Oh yeah, did you hear Kathy say “fucking?” Anderson keeps trying to move away from it but she just wouldn’t let him.
It was a nasty night in DC last night. Anderson and Kathy made it worth staying home.

There's nothing “questionable” about the candid pictures of Anderson Cooper that have been printed — they all just show him walking down the street with a man/men, or standing or sitting near a man/men in a public place — everyone fully clothed, no touching or leering.
Maybe by “questionable” you mean that there are no similar pictures of him with a woman other than his mother or fans?
Correct on the “questionable” question.
Let's compare him to Ryan Seacrest. The rumors have swirled about Ryan for as long as I can remember, but Ryan goes out of his way to make it “known” that he has had a lot of girlfriends. When is the last time Anderson Cooper, or anyone close to him, talked about a girlfriend?
It seems like the only evidence we have of Coopers sexuality is those photos (however innocent) and the rumors.
It just seems so odd.
Oh yeah and let's throw in a big helping of “wishful thinking,” too! I for one would LOVE to have Anderson on the team!
My boyfriend grew up in Manhattan, the son of a very famous artist. His mother ran with the same crowd as Gloria. Anderson hasn't come “out” for two reasons: 1. He's had relationships with women in the past and would like children someday and 2. It would make traveling to less tolerant countries, which he does all the time for his job, absolutely lethal. They do horrific things to journalists already, like stoning and beheading and CNN's risk management has already cut back on his travel, which irks him greatly, because he's a kidnapping target for being wealthy and well known. No one wants to see sweet Andy losing his head on a YouTube video because some selfish idiot felt it was his or her duty to out him. Think before you mess with peoples lives. There are consequenses and there's always Kharma.
Seriously, type Anderson Cooper and at the very top Google suggests the related search of “Anderson Cooper boyfriend.”
In fact, a large percentage of stories about him today and in relation to his being in the closet.
If he were that concerned, he'd being going the “I'm straight and I'm proud” route. As they say, the silence is deafening.
Another plausible reason for cutting back his International travel is that as his star rises, so does his terrorism insurance premiums. That, of course, also plays into what you said, but we must also consider that part of the decision on CNN's part is cost driven as well.
Maybe he is concerned, but is in fact gay and doesn't want to lie about it?
