Next Monday (April 26th) at 9/8 CT on Logo, the three finalists on RuPaul’s Drag Race will be strutting their stuff in hopes of winning the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

They will also be helping Ru shoot the next video for his next single, “Jealous of My Boogie,” which has played extensively on the show!

So, who’s going to win? Will it be Raven, Tyra or Jujubee? Over here at Gay Vantage we’re rooting for Jujubee!  Tune in next week to find out!

Radar Online is reporting that Paris Hilton’s aunts, Kim and Kyle Richards, will be starring in Bravo’s latest Real Housewives installment, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  The article goes on to say that they will be joined by Lisa Todd and her husband Ken, who own Villa Blanca, an upscale Beverly Hills eatery.

“Lisa, Kim and Kyle are all hideously wealthy,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “They live in these amazing houses, drive beautiful cars, live these fabulous lives and spend money like it’s going out of fashion.

Kim Zolciak has been spending a lot of time in L.A.  Is it possible that she will be jumping over from Atlanta?

As always, the casting for the new show is being done in secret.

The second season of the hit show RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on Logo on February 1st at 9 PM ET.  We will also be live blogging the premiere, giving you a play-by-play along with witty commentary.

To keep you in the know, we’d like to introduce you to the second season’s contestants:

Tyra Sanchez

Tyra is a 21-year-old from Orlando, Florida.  She will tell you that she is “America’s Sweetheart” but the show warns us that her sole objective is clear: to obliterate and annihilate.  Tyra knows how to work the runway, the other competitors nerves, and will do whatever it takes to win the contest!

Tatianna

Tatianna is another 21-year-old and hails from Falls Church, Virginia.  Tatianna is a hot girl with a banging body, but she is also young.  Does she have what it takes to win the prize?

Sonique

Sonique is 26 and from Atlanta, Georgia.  Raised in the Bible Belt, she got out to spread her wings but is still a southern gal at heart.  She’s also the sneaky one with tricks up her sleeve that she is willing to use to get a one up on her competitors.

Shangela Laquifa Wadley

This 28 year old comes to the competition by way of Studio City, California.  This baby queen has only been doing drag for four months, but never underestimate her.  She is out to prove that experience is nothing more than another ten letter word in the dictionary.

Sahara Davenport

Sahara Davenport is a 29-year-old from the Harlem section of New York City.  She may be trained in ballet, jazz, and modern dance, but she is able to cut loose and have fun along with the best of them.

Raven

This 30-year-old from Riverside, California has a good chance of shaping up to be the loud mouth of the show.  She isn’t afraid to speak her mind, which may very well end up being her downfall.  Keep your eye on this feisty one!

Pandora Boxx

At 37, Pandora Boxx is the oldest in the bunch.  She will probably be the one that creates the most laughs, but will she be glamorous enough to take the prize?  Only time will tell.

Nicole Paige Brooks

Nicole is 36 years old and another contestant that calls Atlanta, Georgia home.  She is a mouthy queen that isn’t out to make friends and is determined to win the prize.  Nicole has 14 years of drag experience but will it be enough?

Mystique Summers Madison

Mystique is 25 and from Bedford, Texas.  She loves her gowns and is out to prove that the big girls can not only do what the skinny girls do, but that big girls can do it better.  In addition to winning the prize, her goal is to show us that she is large and in charge.

Morgan McMichael’s

This 28-year-old calls Mira Loma, California home.  Morgan is a Scottish hottie that doesn’t just think that she will win, she will happily tell you that she is going to win.  As a member of “The Dream Girls Review,” the longest running drag show in Southern California, Miss Morgan has a ton of experience.  Even with the long resume, does she has what it takes to win?

Jujubee

This 25 from Boston, Massachusetts is everyone’s best friend.  She is spunky, friendly and fun to be around but she will not hesitate for one second to cut a bitch if you cross her.  She is the perfect storm to win the competition, but will she be able to stand out from the pack?

Jessica Wild

This 29 year old comes all the way from San Jose, Puerto Rico.  She wants to be America’s next drag superstar, but will her heavy accent and trouble with English hold her back from taking the crown?  We’ll soon find out…

In anticipation of the season 2 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race at 9 PM ET on Monday, February 1st on Logo, we have a lot of news about the show.  Also, don’t forget that we will be the only gay blog that is live blogging the premiere!

Logo announced yesterday that it greenlit a spin-off for the hugely popular RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The new show, RuPaul’s Drag U, will be a show where everyday women compete in a series of challenges in hopes of unleashing their inner diva.  The show will be hosted by the hilarious and helpful RuPaul and a team of trusty drag queen instructors.

The show is produced by World of Wonder, the same folks behind RuPaul’s Drag Race, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Home [editor: Tori and Dean's appearance on season 1 of Drag Race now makes more sense], Fantasia for Real (premiering on VH1 in January] and Million Dollar Listing.

In other RuPaul’s Drag Race news, Logo just released a behind the scenes clip where the contestants are not allowed to leave their hotel rooms until the first day of filming:

They also released a sneak peek clip of the second episode, where the contestants compete for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.  In the second episode, RuPaul and the drag queens are joined by special guests Kathy Griffin and photographer Mike Ruiz.

Obama may have just made one of the most difficult choices of his Presidency yet: to give his State of the Union address and bump Lost or give it another night and bump American Idol.  The two dates available for broadcast are January 26th (American Idol) and February 2nd (Lost).

Lost fans took to Twitter and created the popular hashtag #NoStateofUnionFeb2.

Yesterday, at the White House’s daily press conference, ABC radio reporter Ann Compton asked Gibbs about the scheduling conflict.  His response to Ms. Compton was “I don’t foresee a scenario in which millions of people who hope to finally get some conclusion with Lost are preempted by the President.”  He also pointed out the irony of the ABC radio reporter asking about the scheduling conflict since Lost appears on ABC television.

Fans of the series Lost can rejoice as press secretary Joe Gibbs has assured Americans that the State of the Union address will not take place on February 2, 2010, meaning that the premiere of the sixth and final season of Lost will air as originally planned.

No word yet on if American Idol will get the bump.  Then again, Fox has been known to refuse to air speeches by Obama.

In an interview published in the Entertainment Weekly that is coming out tomorrow, a few of the American Idol judges discuss comments made on the show that some people — and gay rights group GLAAD — consider to be homophobic.

On the show, both Simon Cowell and host Ryan Seacrest like to make comments that insinuate the other is gay.  In defense of this, Cowell says “We are the least racist, homophobic show in the world. What we do have, thank God, is a sense of humor. I hate political correctness. I wouldn’t go into any show saying anything is off-limits.”

Ellen DeGeneres, an out lesbian and the newest judge on the show, steps in to say that is sensitive to homophobia and acknowledged the issue coming up after Adam Lambert’s loss last season.  Her response on the issue of homophobia in relation to Simon and Ryan’s banter is “At the same time, the stuff that Simon and Ryan do — none of that has ever been offensive to me.”
