William Brown, 23, was sentenced to life in prison for the 2007 murder of 25-year-old college student Ryan Skipper that took place in 2007.
Mr. Brown was convicted of first-degree assault and robbery. Prosecutors allege he and his accomplice targeted the victim because he was gay. Ryan Skipper was stabbed 19 times on the side of the road in Polk County, Florida.
News Channel 8 in Tampa, Florida reports that the killer showed no remorse for his crime and was even witnessed laughing while being fingerprinted. The parents of the victim say that they are dismayed at the reaction of their son’s killer but will go on with their advocacy work.
Joseph Brown, another person involved in the attack, is already serving a life sentence after being convicted of second-degree murder.
